【Female】Princess Moza: Runs the richest royal family in the world
As the world's largest per capita GDP and the richest royal family in the world, the Middle Eastern country of Qatar is small, but its economic development has grown by leaps and bounds, in addition to its rich oil and gas resources, these are actually inseparable from the credit of one woman, that is, the former king of Qatar's most cherished princess - Sheikha Mozah, a woman in the new era who rose in multiple difficulties and led the country to prosperity.

Qatar's per capita GDP was close to 1 million yuan as early as 2016, and it is also the host country of the 2022 World Cup. In the State of Qatar, not only is education and medical care free of charge, but also excellent students are provided with the opportunity to study abroad and scholarships are awarded.

However, it is in such a country that the status of women is still low. A Qatari man can marry up to four wives, and the husband has the right to a unilateral divorce. As in Dubai, women's status in Qatar is subject to various restrictions on many occasions, and they are not allowed to show their faces when they go out (they need to wear a headscarf), and they are not allowed to talk to men other than relatives and family members.

It was in this environment that Princess Moza did not wear the traditional headscarf to cover her face, and became a beloved figure among commoners and the royal family, known as a "miracle from heaven".

Princess Moza is the second wife of King Hamad of Qatar, a constitutional monarchy in Western Asia. From the daughter of a prisoner to the current "Queen Mother", Princess Moza's life is full of legends.

The story goes back to the fathers, when the leader of Qatar was Khalifa, Khalifa was originally just a tribal chief, in 1971, Qatar gained independence, and at the same time discovered a large amount of oil and gas, Khalifa staged a coup d'état, seized power from his cousin, and became the supreme leader of Qatar from the tribal chieftain.
At that time, Khalifa's desire to monopolize oil and gas resources caused dissatisfaction among many tribes, and Moza's father was at the vanguard of the protest movement, and he put forward the idea that "oil and gas belong to the state and citizens collectively enjoy it". This certainly angered Khalifa, who threw Moza's father in prison and exiled his tribe to Kuwait, to which Moza was only able to return at the age of 15.
What Khalifa never imagined at this time was that a few years later, the enemy's daughter would force him to abdicate and take charge of the country's economy.

Khalifa has an eldest son, Hamad, who is a new generation of Western-educated crown princes. Once, the crown prince visited the school and met Moza, who was still studying at the Sociology Department of Qatar University. At that time, Moza was also a prominent figure in the school, and the crown prince fell in love with her at first sight and proposed to the king to marry her. Of course, Khalifa did not agree with his son marrying the enemy's daughter, but he couldn't bear his son's insistence, and Khalifa finally agreed to Moza's entry into the door, but put forward the condition that Moza's relatives should not appear at the wedding, and the crown prince's eldest wife would escort her at the wedding in place of her mother.

Hamad's first wife was a forced political marriage by her father Khalifa, and she was jealous of Moza and taunted Moza's birth with pearls: coarse grains of sand that do not breed glittering pearls, and you should go to prison with your poor father. And Moza's response is equally sharp: how can the snake vulture in the wasteland know how to appreciate pearls? I will prove to you that the royal palace is the best place for me to stay.

Hamad, as the crown prince, has no to be underestimated in terms of political ambition and ability. He studied at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in England, where he embraced Western cultural concepts, and after returning to Qatar, he quickly grew to become the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, taking charge of the military and carrying out a series of reforms in the army. The prince, who embraced the new ideas, hit it off with Princess Moza, who was not willing to accept the status quo and actively sought change.

While pearling is an important industry in Qatar, when the pearling season is approaching, most producers are looking for pearls with large particles and good color, but Moza has gone the other way and collected lower-quality pearls for cheap household products, thus opening up a new field of pearl processing and sales in Qatar.

Moza found a natural black pearl and sent it to a foreign auction house to be valued at $700,000, but his father-in-law Khalifa also took a fancy to the pearl, and when he failed to ask his daughter-in-law for it, Khalifa threw $1 million in anger and bought the pearl from Moza. The $1 million became the first pot of gold on Moza's commercial journey, and Moza began to cultivate artificial pearls.

In addition to making money, the Mozas actually had bigger dreams to achieve. In 1995, as new members of the royal family grew and desperate for change, the Mozas took advantage of Halima's vacation abroad to launch a bloodless coup d'état, ousting the old king from the throne and Hamad becoming the new ruler.

After taking office, Hamad embarked on a drastic reform, starting with free health care and education for all. At Moza's suggestion, Hamad set up the National Investment Agency, with Moza as an important head, and Moza began to make money for the entire country.

In 1997, when the British real estate market was in its infancy, Moza spent $15.8 billion to swallow a large number of properties from London South to London North, and later bought the London Olympic Village for $900 million. In addition to real estate, Moza also has his sights set on art with huge room for appreciation. Soon, Moza recruited the world's top designers to build an art gallery in Doha, the capital of Qatar, and exhibited these works of art.

By 2010, the small country of Qatar had four world-class art galleries, which not only enriched the spiritual world of the people, broke the banner of Islamic cultural traditions, but also greatly boosted the country's tourism industry. By 2012, Qatar had achieved true national wealth, with unemployment close to zero, cars and houses for even the lowest-income earners, and free water, electricity, health care and education.

With the support of her husband Hamad, Moza also established the National Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and served as its chairman of the council. She brings world-class school resources to Qatar, hoping that young people in Qatar can receive the best education in the world in their own country.

She is also a philanthropist who provides the best benefits to nationals and refugees alike – free water, electricity, health care and education – from Iraq to South Sudan, Yemen and even Bangladesh and Kenya. And these seemingly extra-normal things are only because she has a goal of "global citizenship", "the world is a whole, and everyone should strive for the equal happiness of the whole".

It is such a princess full of vision and ambition that she has become one of the "100 most powerful women in the world" selected by Forbes from the daughter of a criminal courtier, and has become an important leader in Qatar's material, spiritual and cultural prosperity.
