DIY a ship with plastic bottles and sail 500 miles
Plastic bottles can only be garbage to us, but for some people, they are not just garbage, but also a hero. Just like the previous article about plastic bottles, it perfectly achieved secondary utilization.
Jan is a 22-year-old student and Jakub is a 21-year-old mechanical assistant. Due to the increasing environmental pollution problem, people still lack the attention they deserve and a strong awareness of environmental protection. In order to advocate for environmental protection and reduce pollution, they decided to use waste plastic bottles to make a ship, sailing while advocating for environmental protection.
Jan and Jakub collected 50000 plastic bottles and began building ships. With the help of friends, they first made a sturdy wooden frame and a rudder steel propeller, and then used some riding parts to make several seats. To maintain buoyancy, they filled plastic bottles with dry ice. Finally, they filled the wooden frame with these plastic bottles in a certain order, and a plastic bottle boat was built. They designed a navigation route and set sail on the Elbe River in central Europe on July 12th, ultimately completing a 500 mile voyage.
Doing meaningful things with their own efforts, these young people are really admirable. Of course, their hands-on approach to environmental protection is believed to raise environmental awareness among many people.
